After their marriage, Earnie and Beatrice lived in Redwood Falls. In 1948, they moved to Morton where Earnie worked for the Morton Street Department. Because of poor health, he retired in 1977. Earnie was a member of the Methodist Church and the Morton Fire Department.
Earnie Clarion Ahrens, of Morton, died at the age of 60, on Monday, 8 November 1982, at the hospital in Redwood Falls, Redwood County, Minnesota.
Earnie was survived by his sons, Earnie Clarion, Jr., of Redwood Falls and James Louis, Thomas John, and Patrick William Ahrens of Morton; five grandchildren; brothers, Maynard of Nevis, Leonard of Morton, Howard of Brainerd, Willard, LaVerne “Babe” and William “Woody” of Redwood Falls, and Floyd “Hap” of North Redwood; sister, Loretta (Lyle) Emerson of Kasota. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service for Earnie Clarion Ahrens was held at the Morton United Methodist Church. The Reverend Kevin R. Dunn officiated. Pallbearers were Jerry O’Neil, Dennis McGowan, Donald Senkyr, Marvin Lothert, David Mude, and Nick Zachariason.
Earnie was buried in the Morton City Cemetery, near Morton, Renville County, Minnesota.
