Henry Clay Warner, b. in Rochester, Wis., July 20, 1837, d. at Lind, Wis., May 2, 1893, where he had resided. He was in a printing office, and later was a farmer. He served in the Civil War, in Co. B, 14th Wisconsin Regiment, was in the battle of Shiloh, the Vicksburg and Atlanta campaigns, at Nashville, Mobile at the capture of the Spanish Fort, was clerk of the Freedmen's Bureau in the summer of 1865, mustered-out Oct. 1865. Married in East Troy, Wis., Mar. 21, 1868, Annie Brownley, b. Sept. 25, 1843, in Spencerville, Ont., Canada, daughter of James and Ann Stitt-Brownley. She resides in Madison, Wis. Children b. in Lind: i. Marian Howard, b. June 6, 1869, d. Apr. 2, 1898; ii. Winnie Susan, b. June 4, 1871, is statistical clerk in the office of the State Board of Health in Madison, 1916.
