Plymouth, Mich., June 7 -- Willard C. Roe, well known citizen of Plymouth for many years, died shortly before midnight Monday of heart failure and complications caused by advancing years. He was 78 years old.
Mr. Roe was a Union soldier in the Civil war, saw many campaigns and after the war was stationed in Washington, as part of the signal corps. The body of men to which he belonged took part in the funeral services for President Lincoln.
Besides his widow, Mr. Roe is survived by two nephews, E. C. Roe, manager of the Markham Air Rifle company, Plymouth and William Roe, also of this village.
Funeral arrangements will be made Tuesday.
