She was born June 6, 1906, near Brazilton, KS. to Chris and Cora (Burnett) Brogan. After graduating from high school, she moved to Kansas City, where she started working at the Fidelity National Bank in 1927.
She was married to Edward C. McGurren in 1936. The couple lived in Kansas City, Norfolk, Neb., and in Chicago until he died in 1953. Margaret then returned to Kansas City and later started working at the Union National Bank as a teller in the bank's bond department. She retired from that position in 1966.
In 1967, she married Al Richard, who died in 1972. Mrs. Richard returned to St. Paul in 1982.
She was Catholic and contributed many hours to Catholic organizations and charities.
Survivors include two sons, Edward McGurren of Prairie Village, KS. and Thomas McGurren of Frisco, Texas; a stepson, Father James Richard of Denver; a stepdaughter, Nora Ellen Richard of Overland Park; two sisters, Mary Strasser of St. Paul and Ethelene Corbitt of Chanute; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul with the Rev. James Richard officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church, where the rosary will be recited at 7:00. A graveside service will be Friday morning at Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo.
The family suggests memorials be sent to St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Carson-Wall Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
