Robbie Marie (Ford) Martin of Lequire, OK died on Sunday, April 21, 2013 in Stigler, OK. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Lequire Baptist Church with the Reverend Willard Francis officiating and Eulogist: Reverend Tim Miller. Interment will be in the Martin Family Cemetery in Lequire. She was born on August 20, 1932 in Pittsburg County near Quinton, OK, to Elmer & Alice (Pelkey) Ford. She married William Clayton Martin on January 4, 1949 in Van Buren, AR. He preceded her in death on September 9, 2008. In November of 1965, William & Robbie traveled to Bakersfield, CA to visit their friends Bill & Rose Mary Hulsey, who were divorcing. They opened their heart and home to Bill & Rose's seven children, Sharon, Jerrie, JoAnn, Robbie, Charley, Clay & Vennessa and brought them home to Lequire to stay. Tim Miller joined their family in 1978. The once childless couple's love and generosity resulted in a family counting over 105 descendants. Robbie was a member of Lequire Baptist Church and loved singing in the choir and reading her Bible. She had a green thumb, loved to fish, sew, and quilt. She also loved her coffee and visiting with her brothers, sister, and her sister-in-heart, Eddie Jean Ford. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great great-grandson and enjoyed loving on each and every one of them. She had an infectious spirit of goodness and grace and brightened the day of any who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Martin; her parents, Elmer & Alice Ford; three brothers, Adam, Abel and John D.; five sisters, Grace Spradley, Altie Shaffer, Avie Shaffer, Aileen Ford, and an infant sister.
