Eva J. Holm, 89, of Redfield, died Tuesday, May 27, 1997 at James Valley Healthcare Center in Redfield.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, May 31 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Redfield, with Fr. John Fischer officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Zell.

Eva J. Wettstein was born November 6, 1907, in Conde to Anton and Mernie (Brandt) Wettstein. She attended school in Conde and graduated from Conde High School.

She married Virgil C. Holm at Conde in October 1931. They lived at Conde until moving to Orient in 1944. Her husband died in 1950, and she moved to Miller in 1952. In 1971 she moved to the Village Apartments in Redfield. She entered James Valley Healthcare Center in 1993.

She was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She enjoyed playing cards and gardening, and she was a loyal Twins fan.

Survivors include three daughters, Patricia (Leo) Haider of Zell, Margaret (Wayne) Moncur of Miller, and Shirley (Terry) Jungwirth of Zell; one son, Charles (Maxine) Holm of Rapid City; 21 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, four sisters, five brothers, and one grandson.
