Born in Pardubice, Czechoslovakia, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Lorenc and Anna Skaroup Lorenc.
Mrs. Bozanek was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was actively involved in numerous civic and religious organizations. She served as president and state board member of the Church Women United. She was also a neighborhood chair of the Girl Scout Council and a coordinator with the YWCA Safe House, a shelter for abused women and children. Charldeen was a regular volunteer at Emmanuel United Methodist Church's soup kitchen for many years.
Surviving are two daughters, Emilie B. Josephs of Loris, SC and Nancy B. Seale (Julian) of Summerville, SC; two brothers, Joseph Lorenc of Iowa and Bob Lorenc of Texas; 11 grandchildren, Debra Northcutt (Lynn), Paul Dacus, Trey Josephs (Marie), Mark Josephs (Shannon), Emil Blake Josephs, Julia Anne Kahler, Bill Seale (Brandy Lynn) Tina Seale, Christy Dietsche (Kevin), Hope Councill (Ryan) and Rebekah Hilbish; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Carol Ann McCarter and Pamela Fay Hilbish.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M., April 21, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Janie McElwee-Smith and Rev. Dave Hilbish officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 P.M. the 20th at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
