Edward David Langan
NAMPA—Edward David Langan, 66, of 303 First Street North Extension, died at a Nampa hospital Wednesday, He was a former Union Pacific Railroad employee and was flagman at the Ninth Avenue railroad crossing here for the past 12 years.
Born Oct. 27, 1895 at Platte Center, Neb., he married Minnie Kamm in 1912. She died Feb. 24, 1936, He married Nellie Farr Feb. 1, 1943 at Nampa and they have lived here since that time.
Langan was an employee for UP for 30 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Ways Employees.
Survivors include his wife of Nampa; five sons, Arnold Langan of Omaha, Neb., Alvin of Gardena, Calif., Harvey of San Jose, Calif. Kenneth of Columbus, Neb., and Donald of Oakland, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Dolores Lachnit of Grand Island, Neb.; three step sons, Gene Farr of Nampa, Thomas of Chicago, Ill., and Algie of Council Bluffs, Iowa; five step, daughters, Mrs. Gladys Hughes, Mrs. Wilma Breier, Mrs. Betty Ivey and Mrs. Ellen Gibson, all of Nampa, and Mrs. Clarice Smith of Greybull, Wyo.; four brothers, Maurice Langan of Glenview, Ill., Chester of Chicago, William of Lincoln, Neb., and Michael of Monroe, Neb.; and three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Gleason of Columbus, Mrs. Margaret Arndt of Grand Island, and Mrs. Maude Kellogg of Graylake, Ill.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Alsip Chapel by Rev. Father Edward J. McMonagle of St. Paul's Catholic Church. Interment will be at Mount Calvary.
