Jerry "Jake" Bechtold, 70, of Goshen, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013.

He was born June 30, 1942, in Goshen to William E. and Edith (Frushour) Bechtold.

He married Elsie Urschel on Dec. 7, 1963.

He is survived by his wife; children Teresa (Martin) Miller of Goshen, James (Lura) Bechtold of Nappannee and Jill Bechtold of Lincoln, Maine; siblings Tom (Marcella) Bechtold of North Manchester, Terry (Becky) Bechtold of Urbana, Larry (Diane) Bechtold of North Manchester, Melvin Bechtold of Columbia City, Shelba (Dean) Neher of North Manchester, Richard (Ruth) Bechtold of Bippus, Billy Bechtold of Huntington, Donald (Helen) Bechtold of North Manchester and Betty McCune of Markle; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Opal McColley; and brother, Max Bechtold.

He was a farmer and was self-employed as a milk transporter. He belonged to the gang at the Café and Dana J's.
