Mr. John Higginbotham, 69 years old, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R.O. Silvers, In Ferguson last Wednesday afternoon, May 24th, following a third stroke of paralysis. He had been in declining health for several months. Mr. Higginbotham was employed as night watchman at the Ferguson shops and had many friends who were grieved to hear of his passing.

He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Reddish Silvers of Ferguson, Henry of Brooklyn, New York, Charles of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Wayne of California, Luke of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Ed of Somerset and Mrs. Charles Peters of Brooklyn, N.Y. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Honta Kruse and Mrs. Loretta Turner of Mill Springs,and Mrs. Katherine Heath of Burnside, two brothers, Jim and Joe Higginbotham of Mill Springs, and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Ferguson Methodist Church, the Rev. J.R. Whealdon assisted by the Rev. T.C. Duke officiating. Interment was in the city cemetery.

Mr. Higginbotham was a kind and thoughtful father and a good citizen, and will be greatly missed. - Somerset Commonwealth
