Victor John Berens, 91, Quinter, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at Gove County Medical Center, Quinter. He was born July 28, 1918, in Vincent to Ulrich and Elizabeth (Von Lintel) Berens.

He married Irene (Mermis) Berens on May 3, 1949. She preceded him in death Oct. 2, 2007.

He was a farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Berens, Quinter and Leon Berens, Topeka; two daughters, LeAnn Keener, Rush Center and Eileen Roberts, Hays; two sisters, Thecla Haas, Hays and Irene Dinkel, Victoria; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Park; burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Schmitt Funeral Home, Quinter. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Quinter Fire Department or Sacred Heart Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
