Irene M. Dinkel, 91, Victoria, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at her home. She was born Feb. 17, 1921, in Vincent to Ulrich H. and Elizabeth (VonLintel) Berens.

She married Alvin W. Dinkel on Jan. 23, 1945, in Victoria. He preceded her in death Jan. 29, 1991.

She worked in housekeeping at St. John's Rest Home, Victoria, for 21 years. She was a lifetime resident of Victoria. She was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and Secular Franciscan Order, all of Victoria. She enjoyed cooking, embroidery, yard work and her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Bill Dinkel, Raytown, Mo.; four daughters, Pat Cook and husband, Tom, Overland Park, Betty Schneider and husband, Don, Great Bend, Linda Basgall and husband, Dan, Hays, and Firma Cassai and husband, Gary, Loveland, Colo.; 13 grandchildren, Brian Cook and wife, Stacey, Ami Cook, Jamie Schneider and wife, Janell, Donnelle Weller and husband, Dan, Lanett Franko and husband, Paul, Deidra Rowley and husband, Ethan, Stacie Dinkel, Jessie Dinkel, Jennifer Massey and husband, James, Troy Basgall and wife, Jessica, Jaree Basgall, Josh Cassai and wife, Kathy, and Nicole Gensler and husband, Josh; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Bernard, Victor, Elmer, Louis, Otto and Fidelis Berens; a sister, Teckla Haas; and a great-grandson, Daniel Alexander Massey.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Friday, both at Cline's Mortuary, 412 Main, Victoria, KS 67671. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, and a Christian Mothers rosary will be at 7:30 p.m., both at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria, in care of the mortuary.
