ยป Social NewsFuneral services for Mary L. Allison are scheduled at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Craddock Memorial Chapel with the Rev.'s David Gardner and Terry Tolbert officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will have a visitation from 5 to 6 this evening at the funeral home.
Mary was born August 22, 1946, in Ardmore, to Otto and Lois (Edwards) Barksdale. She passed this life on March 31, 2013, in a local care center.
Mary was the Valedictorian of her high school class at Gene Autry. She also attended Murray State College in Tishomingo. She and Clayton Allison were married January 8, 1968, in Ardmore. Mary attended Ardmore Beauty College with her lifelong friend, Deana Burton, who introduced her to the love of her life, Clayton Allison. They married Jan. 8, 1968, in Ardmore. She started her lifelong career as a hairdresser. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clayton Allison; and sister, Betty McLain.
Mary is survived by her two sons, Clay Allison and his wife, Sheree Mathes Allison and Matthew Allison, all of Ardmore; sister, Glenda and husband, Sal Carillo of Gene Autry; brother, Jimmy and Pat Kinsey of Broken Arrow; brother, Bill and Sharon Barksdale of Gene Autry; brother-in-law, Charles and Marissa Allison of Burneyville; sister-in-law, Alice Love of Modesto, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews; and her church family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Christian, Eric Lytle, Stacy Walker, Justin Felts, Randy Johnson and Shane Bynum. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Tom and Justin Wilsie.
