In the 1851 census at Malahide Township (p. 30), "Setella" Brown, 53 from NY, Baptist, married, nonmember. Where is Eli? Living with son Calvin, 32, Emiline 29, and their children Edward 10, and Lecta M. 4. Stella and Eli also had a daughter They settled 2 and a half miles northwest of Aylmer.
In the 1861 census at Malahide Township (Div. 4, p. 10) Eli Brown, 65, Stella 61 from UC, Baptists, p 4-10. He is a plasterer. They have grandson? Edward, 19 living with them. Eli died 24 June 1865, age 79, 4 m & 6 ds and is buried at Aylmer Cemetery.
In the 1871 census at Malahide Twp., Elgin, Ontario (3-50) Electa Loop, 47, born Ontario, Baptist of Scotch origin married but husband not with her. With her is mother, Stella Brown, 71, born Ontario, Baptist, widow and son, Eli, 19.
