OBITUARY: Nettie A. "Sootie" (Wintermyer) Oberlander, 83, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2004, at the York Lutheran Home. She was the wife of the late John D. Oberlander. Mrs. Oberlander was born in York on February 6, 1922, to the late William and Katie N. (Lau) Wintermyer. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Dover.

Mrs. Oberlander is survived by a son, Barry L. Oberlander and wife Portia of York; a daughter, Connie S. Yoder of York; two grandchildren, Wade B. Oberlander and wife Autumn of York Haven and Tara A. Oberlander of Shiremanstown; two great-grandchildren, Andrea Caruso and Peyton Knox; a sister, Anna M. Albright of York; a brother, Curtis R. Wintermyer of York; sister-in-law, Margaret Geltz of Dover; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday from the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh) and from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with her pastor, the Rev. Sterling E. Walsh, Jr. officiating. Final resting place will be in Shiloh Cemetery.
