Her parents were Valentine and Charlotta (Corbin) Campbell. The Campbells migrated to Franklin Co., Ohio about 1839. Rebecca was one of eight children. The family moved to Jackson Twp., Brown Co., IN by 1856. She married Granville Kemp on July 8, 1858 in Brown Co., IN. She was the mother of at least six children: Lorenzo "Ranza" or Ramsey, James, Isabella, Elmira Scaggs, Madora and Oliver M.
