Obituary - William B. Satterley, former Patchogue resident, died yesterday morning at his home, 35 Overton Avenue, Sayville. He was born in Patchogue but moved to Sayville about 10 years ago, being a painter by trade. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Cornelia Satterley, three sons, Benjamin of Islip Terrace, Bruce of Patchogue and Harold of Sayville, and a daughter, Mrs. Nelson Champlin of Patchogue: also, three brothers, Orville B. of Patchogue, Chester of Mechanicsville and George F. of Patchogue, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Alexander of West Sayville and Mrs. Fannie Decker of Hudson, N. Y. The funeral will be held at the home tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with burial In Sayville.

Also - Sorrow and keen regret was expressed by many residents of Sayville when they learned of the death early yesterday morning of William B. Satterley, who, with his family, has resided in this village for the past 14 years. Mr. Satterley was generally popular because of his genial disposition and although it was known that he had been in ill health for a number of weeks his death came as a surprise to most of his friends. His death was due to high blood pressure and to asthma, which led to other complications. He fell peacefully asleep at 5:40 o'clock yesterday morning. He was born in Patchogue 54 years ago and spent most of his life as a resident of that village. Thirty-four years ago, he married in Patchogue Miss Cornelia Hyzer, daughter of Daniel Hyzer, a well-known resident here for many years. About 26 years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Satterley removed to the village of Andes in Delaware County. He carried on his business of painting contractor there and continued in the same business after taking up his home in Sayville. Besides his wife, Mr. Satterley is survived by three sons, Benjamin, who lives in Islip Terrace, Bruce, of Patchogue, and Harold, who is unmarried and resides with the family; two daughters, Ellen, wife of Nelson Champlin, of Patchogue, and Ruth, who also is unmarried. Mr. Satterley served for many years as a member of the Patchogue Fire Department and was a member of the Exempt Fireman's Association of that village. He was an ardent baseball fan and one of the most loyal supporters of the Sayville baseball team. He was an enthusiastic and loyal Republican and a member of the Sayville Republican Club, where he will be greatly missed. He was of the Baptist faith and the funeral services, which are to take place on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from his late home, 35 Overton Avenue, will be conducted by the Rev. J.V. Springer, pastor of the Blue Point Baptist Church, to be followed by interment in the Union Cemetery.
