Former Collin County Man Dies At Emory
Oran Eldsworth Hunter, 63, died at 11:30 p.m. at Emory. He was born June 19, 1890 in Collin County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Hunter, and resided in the county until a few years ago. He engaged in farming and stock raising.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in the Crouch-Moore Funeral chapel here with the Rev. T. W. Sisterson, pastor of the First Christian church, officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Grove in Fitzhugh cemetery. He was a member of the Christian Church.
Active pallbearers are: Dale Wolford of Greenville; Carl Melton of McKinney; Homer Haggard and Willie Renfro, both of Frisco; Eddie Gordon and Dwain Cooper both of Emory.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. O. E. Hunter of Emory; eight brothers: R. M. Hunter and C. B. Hunter , both of Claude, Texas; L. T. Hunter of Bowie; E. L. Hunter of Amarillo; Joe B. Hunter of Virginia; Howell H. Hunter of Ranger; Ray Hunter of Canyon and Wallace D. Hunter of Waco. Three sisters who survive are Mrs. C. E. McKinney of Bowie; Mrs. W. H. McMillan and Miss Eula Hunter of Forth Worth.

Oran was born down on the farm and was the last of the boys to leave the farm for other work. He engaged in buying cotton in Allen and with larger firms. He was married to Elizabeth Mallow, daughter of Dr. Mallow of McKinney. Oran died while living in Emory, Texas.
