MRS. HUNTER WAS PIONEER OF COLLIN

Another pioneer of Collin county passed away when Mrs. Mary Frances Hunter died at her home at Allen at 11:15 o'clock Tuesday morning, Dec. 12, 1916. She had been ill for quite awhile.
The deceased was born in Tennessee Dec. 4, 1851, being 65 years and 8 days old at the time of her death.
She had been a resident of Collin county for over fifty years.
She was the widow of John W. Hunter of Allen, who died about eight years ago. For many years before his death, they resided on their farm east of Allen.
She was the mother of fifteen children, thirteen of whom are living, as follows:

Surviving Children.
Dr. J. E. Hunter of McKinney; R. H. Hunter of Bellvue; C.B. Hunter of Claude; Luther T. Hunter of Wellington; Ray Hunter of Claude; Hal H. Hunter of the Midland College, Midland, Texas; Oran and Walter Hunter, who lived with their mother at Allen; Prof. Lee Hunter of the public schools, Aubrey, Texas; Mrs. Maude McKinney, Bellvue; Mrs. Hunter McMillan of Fort Worth; Miss Eula Hunter, teacher of English in the Boyd High School, McKinney. Two children of her family are deceased, one died in infancy and the other, Mrs. John Coffey died after her marriage to Dr. Coffey. She is also survived by seven grand-children, and other relatives. Hons. R.C., E.W. and J.H. Merritt of McKinney are nephews of Mrs. Hunter.

Burial at Allen.
The funeral services were held at the Christian church in Allen today at 1 o'clock. She was for many years a member of this church. Revs. Eugene Holmes of Gainesville, M. A. Smith of Wylie and E.H. Wylie of Allen officiated. Burial took place in Fitzhugh cemetery at 3 o'clock. Eld. R. C. Horn of Vineland also attended the funeral.
