Lloyd had spent time as a child in Sabula, Big Run, and Punxsutawney, PA. Lloyd's family moved to the Goff Farm on Gray Hill in 1900, now called the 'Gray Homestead'. LLoyd attended the Gray School House only a half mile from his farm house (also on Gray Hill Road). He and three of his brothers, Roy, Harry and Paul shared time togeather at the one-room school.
Lloyd Gray married Jane Matilda Wilt from Grampian, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania,USA on November 26th 1924. Lloyd's brother Roy Gray performed the ceremony, while Jane's mother and father were in attendance. They were married in their newly furnished home in Hyde, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, USA.
Lloyd and Jane had eleven children. Teh surved to adulthood.
Lloyd (Chizzy) Gray was a Blacksmith and carperter by trade.
There are many stories that survieve to this dya, about Lloyd Gray. He was a great story-teller and beloved men in the area.
Paul Gray (Lloyds son) tells a story about an individual in Washington, PA (where Paul lives)who told Paul some seemingly outragous stories about this old guy in Elk County that goes by the name of 'Chizzy'... Paul said "yeah, that's my dad"... This guys eyes got really big when Paul told him that all the stories he recounted were true.
