RALPH D., FARRENS
Ralph D. Farrens, 76-year old retired farmer and Nodaway Township assessor 19 years, died at 6:55 p.m. Thursday at the St. Francis Hospital, following a brief illness.
Born March 12, 1899, at Clearmont, the son of the late Perry and Lizie McDonald Farrens. he was married May 31, 1924 to Alta Godsey who survives. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary in 1974. He was a graduate of the Clearmont High School and resided in that area until 1946, when he moved to Burlington, Jct.
Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Clarence Farrens, Burlington Jct.; Wilber Farrens, Quitman, and Eugene Farrens, Troy, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. Eva Pence, Maryville; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a daughter; three brothers, Pat, Perry, and Cicero Farrens, two sisters,Mrs. Myrtle Holbrooks and Laura Kellogg.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the BarrMerrick Chapel, Burlington Jct. Burial will be in the Clearmont Cemetery.
