Julius, T- Johnson, a psychia-'
trist in Augusta for more than 30
years who also served as president
of the Richmond County
Medical Society, died Friday at
University Hospital. He was 67.
Dr. Johnson, of 819 Milledge
Road, opened . his. psychiatric
practice in Augusta in 1959 after
graduating from Mercer University
and earning his medical degree
from Medical College of Georgia
in 1953. He worked with University
Hospital for more than 25 years.
During his career, Dr. Johnson
worked as assistant clinical professor
of psychiatry at MCG, was
a consultant for Dwight D. Eisenhower
Army Medical Center and
the Veterans Affairs Medical Center,
and was staff psychiatrist at
Gracewood State School and Hospital.
Dr. Johnson was president of
the Richmond County Medical Society
from 1969-70.
He is survived by sons Traylor
Johnson, Mike Johnson and David
Johnson, all of Augusta; daughters
Jan Johnson and Cheryl
Wheeler, both of Augusta; his
brother, Carey Tolbert Johnson,
Virginia; three sisters, Georgia J.
Stewart. Eva Sue J. Padgett and
Mary Elizabeth J. Starnes. all of
Augusta; and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m.
Monday at The Hill Baptist
Church with the Rev. Dr. Wofford
Caughman and the Rev. Fred
Gunter officiating.
Burial will be in Westover Memorial
Park.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Theo
Thevaos, Roland Smith, Brian J.
Mulherin Sr.. Dr. Joe Garrison.
Ronnie Inglett and Mack Stewart.
Honorary pallbearers will be
the Caduceus Club.
