She was preceded in death by her parents, William Claude Green and Fannie Catherine Rowland Green, husband, Harold Moran Ayers, son, Gary Lee Compton, 3 sisters and one brother.
Mrs. Ayers was multitalented, having written many plays and musical pieces, she was very devoted to her family and her church.
She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Collins and her husband Ron, of Manassas, grandchildren; Laura, Brian, Scott, and Aaron Collins, nephews; Wayne Ayers and his wife Ann, of Vinton, Curtis Ayers and his wife, Dreama, of Salem, niece, Janet Johnson of Roanoke, and numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Vinton Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; President R. Kevin Bohon will preside, with Bishop Jimmy Webber conducting. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery
