Mrs. Fannie Catherine Rowland Green, age 99, of Vinton, died Thursday, November 14, 1991. She was the widow of William C. Green and was preceded in death by a daughter, Thora G. Ayers. She had worked at the Mercy House and Lewis Gale Hospital as a nurse's aide. She was Vinton's Mother of the Year in 1981. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Moroni C. and Louise R. Green, Vinton; daughters and son-in-law, Mrs. Virginia G. Summers, Vinton; Mrs. Edna G. Stone, Portland, Ore.; Iona G. and Harold M. Ayers, Vinton; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Claude E. Rowland, Roanoke; Oscar J. Rowland, Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral services will be conducted from the Vinton Ward Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, Hardy Rd. at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 18, 1991 with Bishop Wayne M. Ayers officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel Sunday.
