Victor was born on the family farm near Rhein, the youngest of ten children. He was baptised and confirmed in Christ Lutheran Church in Rhein. He went to Rhein School, and then Luther College in Regina. His studies were interrupted because of the Great Depression, and he was forced to return home.
Victor married Hannah Charlotte Ewald on June 25, 1933. About 20 years later Victor received his inheritance, and was able to commit to completing his studies and becoming a Pastor. He served as a full time Pastor for some time in Canada, and then was called to serve in Ohio in 1969. He retired in 1980, but for over five years filled in where Pastors were on vacation, or where there was a vacancy.
Victor and Hannah later moved to Kelowna, BC, where they lived until their passing. They had three children: Harvey, Arnold, and Dennis.
