Mildred Adeline Mary Brunkhorst, age 95, of Red Wing, died Friday, March 8, 2013 at St Bridgid's at Hi-Park. She was born May 3, 1917 in Lake Township, to Edwin W. and Elsie (Palmer) Bade. She was baptized June 17, 1917 and confirmed May 24, 1931 at St. John's Lutheran in Lake City, where she was a lifetime member. She grew up on her family farm and attended rural school. She later moved to Welch. On July 8, 1939 she married Norman Brunkhorst in Decorah, IA and made their home in Lake City. Mildred worked at the Lakeview Bakery for 15 years. Norman died on September 13, 1995. She loved making quilts and enjoyed going to the casino.

She is survived by her son, Richard (Linda) of Red Wing; three grandsons, Richard (Karen) Jr. of Red Wing, Dana (Jeannie) of Rochester, and Daniel (Trudy) of Rochester; step-grandchildren, Corey, Jason, Billy, and Nick Reese, Patty Mackie, Annette Haley, Lisa Adams, Tom Adams; Several great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren; one sister, Irene Reick of Red Wing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; granddaughter, Dawn; brothers; and sisters.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing with Reverend Daniel Kroll officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 15 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery in Lake City will be at a later date. Memorials are preferred to donor's choice. - Mahn Family Funeral Home
