Floyd was the son of Isom Marion Skinner and Rutha M. Richardson, grandson of Isaac Francis Marion Skinner and Josephine Snowden and great-grandson of Rev. W. E. Snowden and Harriet Skinner. He attended Liddieville School in Franklin Parish, LA, where he played basketball and graduated from Winnsboro High School (Class of 1927). Floyd and Vallie Mae Fitch had daughters, Helen Louise Skinner Parker b. July 1927 in Liddieville, Franklin Parish, LA and Dorothy Ray Skinner b. Aug. 15, 1929 Richland Parish, LA. Floyd left Louisiana soon afterward and went to St. Louis, MO, where he married Grace Genevieve Leeper. They had four daughters - Barbara Jayne Skinner (Miss Missouri 1959), Patricia Skinner, Sharon Skinner and Nancy Skinner Gumo. Floyd md. 2. Emily (last name unknown) in the area of Fort Myers, Florida. "Tom was a great humanitarian and an asset to Lehigh Acres. He was past Chaplain and Esquire of Elk's Lodge #2602, a member of Moose Lodge #2268, past Pres., Zone Chairman and Deputy District Gov. of Lions Clubs of Florida. He was also Executive Director of the Eye Bank in Miami, FL, a member of Lehigh Acres Community Services and Christ United Methodist Church. He was a retired Agent and the Sales Manager of Banker's Life Insurance." Floyd was cremated. His siblings: Eva, Minnie, Della, George and Dewey Skinner.
