My beautiful sister in law, who died this morning after a valiant battle with illness.

Wife of Bruce Abramson-Andrews. Daughter of Joyce and Irving Kahn. Sister of Gary Abramson and Jaclyn "Jackie" Abramson Zigan. Step sister of Becky Kahn and Terri Kahn. Aunt of Jamie Kahn Adams, Matthew Zigan and Noah Abramson.

A gentle and caring soul. I promise to add more when I can. Just honoring you in the only way I can, Cin, with love.

Cynthia Dale Abramson-Andrews (Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle)

Milwaukee native Cynthia Dale "Cindi" Abramson-Andrews died March 11 of an illness. She was 53.

She graduated from Nicolet High School and studied at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the University of California-Santa Cruz.

She was owner of Safe At Home in-home health services. She also worked at TJ's Rugby Junction Bar & Grill and was manager of Greenwood Lodge in Door County. She was a member of Temple Menorah.

According to her sister, Jackie Zigan, "She loved to camp and hike and was very comfortable in the outdoors. Many months were spent in the South and West coasts. Some of her college years were at UC-Santa Cruz studying the habits of the elephant seals. The last decade she enjoyed living in Door County and was often on her boat in the lake."

She was also "an excellent artist, writer, lyricist, guitarist and singer" who "was a singer in three bands in the 1970s and 80s," as well as in the choirs of Beth El Ner Tamid Synagogue and Temple Menorah, according to her sister.

In addition, "She loved animals and had many pets throughout her life. She had a unique way with wild animals that made her build instant trust. That caring nature was also very true with people," her sister wrote.

She is survived by husband Bruce Abramson-Andrews; parents Joyce (Irving) Kahn and Joel Abramson; and siblings Gary (Amy) Abramson, Jackie (Harry) Zigan, Becky Kahn and Terri Kahn.

Suminsky-Weiss Funeral Home handled arrangements. Rabbi Gil-Ezer Lerer officiated at the funeral on March 13. Burial was in Mound Zion Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center or the Wisconsin Humane Society.
