JOYCE L. KAHN
Joyce Kahn (nee Gordon) died December 11th, 2021 at the age of 88. She was born January 29, 1933 in Milwaukee and lived in Bayside the last 62 years. A graduate of Washington High School, she attended UW - Madison and was active in the Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority.

After enjoying years of being a stay at home mom, Joyce went to work at the Milwaukee Jewish Chronicle and the Board of Jewish Education. When her father passed away, she took over his insurance business and retired as a licensed insurance agent. Her favorite work was the business she ran with her sister, owning and managing multiple properties.

Joyce felt a close connection to Judaism. She was both a Sisterhood and Board member of Beth El Ner Tamid and later Temple Menorah. She was a lifetime member and past president of Hadassah. Joyce had a lifelong commitment to Israel and was honored to be a past president of the Zionist Organization of America.

While at Beth El Ner Tamid, she was an active participant of the Hakodima club, joining in many of their performances. Joyce appreciated the arts in many forms. Throughout her life she studied acting, drawing and took voice lessons. Her love of music led her to sing in multiple choirs as well as hosting many musically themed parties.

Joyce's other passion was travel. She enjoyed camping and with their trailer she and Irv were able to visit 48 states as well as Canada and Mexico.

Joyce's greatest passion was her family. Besides hosting legendary Seders and other holidays, her creative spirit inspired many themed celebrations, vacations and memories for her family and friends.

Joyce was the beloved wife of the late Irving Kahn, magnificent mother of Gary (Amy) Abramson, Jackie (Harry) Zigan, Becky Kahn, Terri Kahn, and the late Cindi (Bruce) Abramson-Andrews. Proud grandmother of Jamie (Jake) Adams, Matthew Zigan and Noah Abramson and great-grandmother of Sammi and Parker Adams. She was predeceased by her parents and sister, and further survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and other close family and friends.

Services were held December 14, 2021 at Temple Menorah with internment at Mound Zion Cemetery. Rabbi Chuck Briskin and Rabbi Gil-Ezer Lerer presided. Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home assisted the family. Memorial contributions to Temple Menorah or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society are appreciated.
