Tyrus R. Senft, of York, passed away March 8, 2013. He was the loving husband of Margie M. (Luckenbaugh) Senft. Together they shared over 63 years of marriage.

Tyrus was born in York, on July 7, 1927, and was the son of the late Lloyd Senft and Lucy (Senft) Senft.

Mr. Senft worked for York Wallpaper, and then American Chain & Cable and retired after 31 years of employment.

He played for the York County Baseball League in his younger years and was a longtime member of Faith Evangelical Congregation Church in York.

Tyrus enjoyed hunting, NASCAR, and feeding the birds in his yard.

In addition to his wife, Margie, he is survived by his daughter, Linda Geiman of Spring Grove; son, Steven M Senft and wife, Robin of Lewes, DE; grandchildren, Christy Weaver and husband, Merle, Jessica Blakeman and husband, Matthew, and Jenna Senft; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Lloyd, James, Dale, Gary, and Ronald Senft, and his sisters, Doris Forry and Lucy Jane Griffin, all of York County.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert and Richard.

A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held March 13, 2013. at 11 a.m. at Irwin-Beck Funeral Home, Spring Grove, with the Rev. Michael E. Campbell officiating. He will be laid to rest following the service at St. Paul (Dubs) Union Cemetery, Hanover.
