Everett Oliver Franklin, 78, of Summer Hill, was pronounced dead on arrival at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield after he collapsed at his home of an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Franklin was born in Pleasant Hill March 4, 1907, the son of William O. and Tabitha Jane Smith Franklin. He married Lucille E. Craigmiles Nov. 24, 1927, in Pittsfield. She survives. Mr. Franklin was a custodian at Pittsfield High School, retiring in 1971. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter. Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Ward-Lummis Funeral Home by the Rev. Francis Sheppard. Burial was in Crescent heights Cemetery at Pleasant Hill.
