Mattie Mozelle Maier

Agee, Mattie Mozelle Maier, 89, peacefully passed away on April 21, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late James Robert Agee, Sr. Mother to 3 sons, and one child who died in Texas, in 1943.

Survived by 3 sons, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, her brother, and nieces and many great nieces and nephews.

Mozelle was born Dec. 24, 1922 in Walters, Oklahoma and graduated salutatorian from Ahpeatone High School in 1940. She was a devoted member of Dayspring Presbyterian Church in Forsyth, Georgia and most recently at Young Meadows Presbyterian in Montgomery, Alabama. While in Forsyth, she volunteered at Monroe County Hospital and was a counselor at the Crisis Pregnancy Center. She was a counselor at Sav-a-Life in Montgomery and served as a teacher for Child Evangelism Fellowship for over fifty years. Mozelle and her late husband James were also active members of the Gideons International for over forty years.

There will be a memorial service at Young Meadows Presbyterian Church in Montgomery, AL on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 2 p.m. A grave side service and interment will be in Forsyth Georgia on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., EDT. In lieu of flowers, please place Bibles through the Gideons International.
