Following a lengthy illness, John H Vosburg, RD 1, Pittston - Mt Zion, died last night at his home.
Born on Meshoppen, he was a son of the late Alonzo & Tillie (Woodruff) Vosburg & lived in Moosic before moving to Mt Zion 35 years ago. He was engaged in farming at Mt Zion & was a former member of the Exeter Township School Board & a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Moosic.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Haladay & 12 children; Dorothy (Fred) Moyer, Hopatcong; N J, John, Flemington N J; Curtis, Neshanic Station, N J; Carl, Ashtabula, Oh; Lucy (Ben Jr) Daniels, RD 1, Pittston; Catherine (Robert) Richards, W Pittston; Delbert, Moosic, Mary Jane (John) Cicon, Duryea; Madeline (Albert) Lash, Scranton; Myrtle (Gerald) Shiffer, Washington; Theodore, RD 1, Wapwallopen; Airman 1C Elmer, El Paso, Tx; & 37 grand-children. Albert Vosburg, cousin, Tunkhannock, RD 3.
A son, Wellington, was killed in Naples in World War II while serving with the 82nd Airborne Div.
Funeral will be held from the funeral home at 18 Kennedy St, Pittston, where friends may call 7 to 10 PM tonight & thereafter 2 to 5 & 7 to 10 PM until funeral time.
