"Mrs. Samuel Baxter was confined on Saturday and died from the effects thereof on Sunday. The funeral took place on Wednesday, the remains being deposited in the Fish Creek cemetery. Mrs. Baxter leaves a husband and several young children to mourn her loss."

-Hattie (Etta) - b. bef June 1875; about 12 yrs old when her mother died; living in Wonewoc, Juneau County, Wisconsin in Feb. 18, 1893 and in Feb. 1897.
-Gustine Baxter - b. Apr 1876 m. Gertrude Helgason; age 10 yrs, 11 mos when his mother died.
-Samuel Baxter - b. 1878 m. Delia Williams; age 9 when his mother died.
-Jennie Evelyn Baxter - b. Oct. 1879 (7 months in early June 1880) m. Frank Mortimer Stevens; age 7 1/2 years old when her mother died. (her obit & stone give two different birth years)
-Richard Dee Baxter - b. Sept 1880 m. 1) Theresa Klaus Baxter; 2) Sophia (Glassburn) Allen Sheldon; Richard was 6 1/2 years old when his mother died.
-Child Baxter
-Delia Maude E. Baxter - b. Sept. 1884/1885 adopted by Alex and Dora (Lechler) Wilson m. Charles F. Burns; age 1 1/2 or 2 1/2 years old when her mother died.
-Benjamin Eben Gage - b. 1887 - adopted by Joseph B. and Sarah (Sanborn) Gage m. Louise Alice Constance Carey; about 1 day old when his mother died.

A certified court document establishing age, place of birth and parentage, dated Aug. 12, 1952, states that Gustav Baxter was born April 20, 1877 in Fish Creek, WI. His father was Sam Baxter born in Ireland, British Isles and his mother, Alvena Baxter, nee Alvena Williams was born at Cedar River, Michigan.
