Mrs. Ellis had retired from working on the treeing line at the former Brown Shoe Company. She attended Christ Community Church in Murphysboro and was a member of the church Laff Club. She had two favorite hobbies -- quilting and gardening.
During her lifetime, she had ten sets of five generations and one set of six generations in her family. She was 103 at the time of her death.
