First found in the Federal Census for 1870, Congress, Wayne County, Ohio, at age 3, listed as Agusta. On later census records she is found with the following names: Harriet, Gertrude. Sometimes was called "Gerty." She was the first of 11 children born to her parents, Wilson W. Ager & Eliza Ann (Weiler) Ager. Born in Ohio, Nov. 1867. She and her family were found in Nobles County, Minnesota, from 1880 through 1900, in the towns of Dewald & Worthington.
Her married name has been found spelled as Daugherty and Dougherty. The 1900 census shows her as Harriet, born April 1867 in Ohio, married 11 years, the wife of Robert Dougherty, born March 1858, in New Jersey. She had given birth to 4 children and 3 were still living. Their 3 children were listed as: Albert, age 10; Esther, age 6; Clifford, age 1. All the children were born in Minnesota.
