MONTICELLO — Sylvia May Straub, 88,
formerly of White County, died
Saturday at 5:15 p.m. in the
Lafayette Health Care Center, where
she had been a resident since 1974.
She was born in Brookston on June 21,
1892, to Jeremiah and Sarah Martin
Redding. On Feb. 14, 1912, she was
married to Herbert T. Straub, who died
Dec. 31. 1962.
A resident of the Brookston-Chalmers
area most of her life,
she was a member of the Federated
Church of Brookston.
Surviving are a son, Raymond H.,
Lafayette; two grandchildren and
five great-grandchildren.
Six brothers and three sisters
preceded her in death.
Private graveside services will
be Wednesday in the
Riverview Cemetery with the Rev.
James Walters officiating. There
will he no visitation.
The Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements.
