Born February 7, 1917 in Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Preston Allison (1889–1974) and Zula Mae Harris Allison (1887–1979); wife of Ness Clyde Coffey (1917–2005) for 64 years.
A homemaker and a proud member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Clyde Gary Coffey and Michael Clinton Coffey; sister, Verna Mae Allison Mode (1922–2005); five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Also predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Yvonne (Coffey) Shank; three brothers, Lawrence Preston Allison (1911–1974), Paul Allison (1924–1988), and Henry "Red" Allison (1925-2003); and sisters, Ina Hart Allison (1914–1974) and Willa May Allison (1920–1921).
Visitation was held 3:00-4:00 pm, Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Funeral services followed at 4:00 pm at the Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Robert W. Kirby, Jr.; the burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorials could be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Cowpens, SC.
