Philip was employed at Clabots Shoes for 28 years and retired in 1984. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #401, Nobel-Straubel VFW Post #2037 and past Post Commander. He was involved with the Green Bay Kickers and the South Side Civic Association. Philip helped start the South Side Library and was on the Green Bay Planning Commission. He was a ticket taker for the Green Bay Packers for the Ice Bowl and he sold programs and parked cars at the old stadium. Philip was a past member of the St. Joseph's Holy Name Society and St. Joseph's Athletic Club.
Surviving are his step-daughter, Nancy and Dr. Robert Logomasini, Hampton Bay, Long Island, New York; 17 grandchildren, Timothy, Patrick, Victoria, Jonathon, Mark, Kathleen, Mathew and Peter Spellman, Bridget Roeder, Becky Swalve, Tina Garzanelli, Robert Jr., John and Angela Logomasini, Lisa Darling, Linda Fournier and Anna Montgomery; 23 great-grandchildren; his niece, Barbara (Jerry) Leiterman; and a nephew, James La Count.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Peggy Spellman Block; a grandson, Thomas Spellman; a great-granddaughter, Sara Roeder; and a sister, Genevieve La Count.
Military honors will follow. Entombment will be at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
