He was the husband of Barbara Lenker Tredick. Bom in Colon, Panama Canal Zone, on Jan. 17, 1940, he was the son of the late William H. and Viola Kreiser Tredick, who were formerly of Lebanon. He graduated from the U.S.
Naval Academy and received a masters degree in public administration from Golden State University. He served 20 years in the Navy as an unrestricted line officer and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, William Tredick III of Halifax; a daughter, Tracy Weinman of Vancouver, a sister, Priscilla Tredick of Barre, and a grandson, Austin Weinman..
