Caroline F. "Karen" Geiger, 77, Minot, died Sunday, February 17, 2013 in a Minot hospital.

Caroline Francis Stein was born November 22, 1935, the daughter of Joe and Julia (Dietrich) Stein in Mandan, ND. She was raised on the family farm in rural Mandan and educated in Mandan.

Caroline was united in marriage to Daniel "Dan" Geiger on September 20, 1954, in Mandan, ND. They made their home in Mandan until 1956, when they moved to Minot. Together they raised their five children.

Caroline was a homemaker until they purchased the Club 52, located west of Minot. They owned and operated the Club for 17 years. Caroline also worked at the Casa Motel, as a caregiver, and for Sweetheart Bakery. In recent years, she owned and operated Lady Bug Daycare in NW Minot for 6 years before retiring. Daniel passed away February 24, 2004. Following his death, she continued to live in Minot.

Caroline loved to can all sorts of meats, vegetables and fruits. She had many gardens and shared her produce with everyone. Caroline had quite the green thumb and was proud of her plants and flowers. She also enjoyed singing, yodeling and loved to cook. Some of her favorite German foods were borscht and potato salad.

Caroline enjoyed getting together with friends to play poker, games, or visit at birthday club. She loved to travel and go visit her sisters and together would go to rummage sales or Goodwill looking for that "bargain". Caroline loved her grandchildren with a passion that only a grandma understands and was looking forward to meeting her first great-grandchild, Maddix in March 2013. Caroline also loved her dogs.
