Dorene M. Stein, 70, Minot, ND, died Sunday, April 20, 2003, in a Minot nursing home.

Dorene was born March 3, 1933, in Elgin, ND, the daughter of Edward and Marge (Weber) Bieber. She was raised and educated in Elgin.

On August 3, 1951, she married Clements J. Stein in Mandan, ND. They lived in Mandan where she was employed at Super Value as a cashier. They later moved to Minot where Dorene was employed as a cashier at various grocery stores. She worked for a number of years at the 52 Club in Minot, as a waitress and bookkeeper.

Dorene was once active in bowling leagues. She loved camping, crossword puzzles, animals and singing and dancing.

Survivors: Husband, Clements, Minot; daughter, Sandra Stein, Minot; son, Terril Stein, Minot; one granddaughter, Nicole Genung; sisters, Joan George, Laurel, MT, Arlene Sautner, Tacoma, WA and Janice Ingles, Lemon, SD; numerous nieces and nephews survive. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard A. Stein, and her parents.
