Mrs. Tyler, wife of the late Carey Tyler, died Friday, Feb. 26, 1993. Born in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Peyton and Margaret Johnson Joyner.
She was a graduate of Winthrop College and received her master's degree from the University of South Carolina. She retired from Columbia College as assistant professor of business. She was a member of Eau Claire Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and director of the WMU and also wrote the church history.
Surviving are her son, Walter Tyler of Columbia; a daughter, Margaret Clawson of Gainesville, Fla.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
