Mrs. McMahon Dies At Age 72, Rites Tuesday
Born 9 Dec. 1882 died 15 June 1975
Mrs. Lena McMahon, 92, long time resident of Marshall County area, died Sunday at the Marshalltown Manor.
Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Pursel Davis Chapel with J. L. Garmon officiating.
She was born Dec. 9, 1882, near Baxter, the daughter of Frederick and Anna Marie Boeke Petermeier. She married Charles McMahon on May 8, 1902, in Jasper County.
He preceded her in death in 1936. She is survived by five sons and two daughters, Richard McMahon of Marshalltown; Daniel McMahon of El Segundo, Calif.; Kenneth McMahon of Dallas, Texas; Keith McMahon of Garland, Texas; and Dale McMahon of El Segundo, Calif.; Mrs. Delores Buschbom of Marshalltown and Mildred (Mrs. Ted) Henning of Colfax. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and seven sisters.
She was educated in Baxter. Following her marriage she moved to the Marshall-Jasper County area. She moved to Marshalltown in 1943 and moved to the Marshalltown Manor in 1970.
She was a member of the Church of Nazarene. Burial was in the Restland Cemetery in Baxter. Memorials may be directed to the Cancer Society.
