Richard Wallace Bryant, 70, of Monroe, passed away, Saturday, February 9, 2013 at his home. Born in Lynchburg, August 9, 1942, he was the son of the late Claude and Gwendolyn Bryant. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, the Moose Lodge, and was retired from Bowman's Locksmith after forty-four years of service. Richard is survived by his wife, Darlene V. Bryant; four children, Sharon Clements, Joyce Martin (Jeff), Janet Brown (Eric), Richard Bryant, Jr. (Tonia); four grandchildren, Sarah, Mary, Samuel, Benjamin; and a brother, Preston Bryant. The family will receive friends 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., today, Monday, February 11, 2013, at Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory, 427 Graves Mill Road, (434) 239-2405. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in Fort Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. Eric Brown. Military Honors will be rendered by American Legion Post 16. In lieu of flowers, memorials may take the form of contributions to the , 2050 Langhorne Rd., Suite 201, Lynchburg, VA 24502. Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory is assisting his family.
