New Bloomfield, April 16 - Henry
Kitner died yesterday at the home of
his son, Frederick, in Carroll township
from the effects of paralytic stroke
which he suffered last Thursday. He
was the son of John and Sarah R Kit-
ner, and was the last of a family of
thirteen brothers and sisters. His
wife, whose maiden name was Eliza
Petrie, died some years ago. He is
survived by seven children, Frederick
Kitner, at whose home he died; Mrs
Mary Cooper and Mrs Rose Foose, all
of Carroll Township, and David, Wil-
liam, Samuel and Jesse Kitner in the
West.
He was a veteran of the Civil war.
He was for eleven months a prisoner
in Andersonville. Funeral services
will be held on Friday morning and
will be conducted by the Rev. G. W.
McIlroy, of the Methodist church of
this place. He was a member of John
Jones Post, G.A.R. of New Bloomfield.
He was eighty-two years old.
