Mrs. Alta (Hughes) McNeely, 84, wife of Minville McNeely, died in St. Elizabeth Hospital at 4:30 AM Tuesday, Nov. 21, 1967. She had been in failing health two years and a patient in the hospital two weeks. Born in Washington County, she was married at Salem in 1900, and lived in Lafayette 38 years. The couple came here from Mitchell and Mr. McNeely worked for the Brown Rubber Co. before his retirement. She was a member of the Christian Church of Bedford.
Surviving with the husband are six daughters, Mrs. Joe Hoshaw, Mrs. Roy Hoshaw, both of Wolcott, Mrs. Claude Lowery of Rt. 13, Mrs. Jesse Goldsmith, Mrs. Clara Hoskins, both of Lafayette, and Mrs. Travis Kendrick of Speedway; and four sons, Ivis McNeely of Mitchell, Alva McNeely, Paul McNeely, both of Lafayette, and Grant McNeely of Rt. 13.
