BENEFIEL.
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Benefiel expired at her home on the Locust street afternoon. Last November she had an attack of la grippe, and when it was thought that she was convalescing, Bright's disease developed and to this is due her death. Since Wednesday her condition had been extremely critical and from that time her death had been looked for.
Mrs. Benefiel was a native of New England and came to Davenport in 1870. She had been twice married, her first husband, Dr. A.J. Higgins, dying in Missouri before her removal to Davenport. In this city she was married to W.M. Benefiel by whom she is survived. The following children also mourn her death: W.J. Higgins, of Burlington; S.E. Higgins, of Ann Arbor, Mich.; Mrs. L.M. Avery, of Ayrshire, Iowa; Harold Benefiel, of this city and Mrs. N.A. Wells, of Newton, Iowa.

BENEFIEL.
The funeral of Mrs. M.F Benefiel will be held at the residence, one-half mile west of the city limits, on the Locust street road, at 9:30 o'clock Wednesday morning. The interment will be in Oakdale cemetery.
