She was born June 13, 1902, in Unity Township, Westmoreland County, Pa., the daughter of Harry J. Banner and Elizabeth Fetter Banner.
Emma was a member of the Woodbridge Union Church in Smithfield, Pa.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, sewing, crocheting, reading and working crossword puzzles.
She crocheted 200 afghans for the Linus Project.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doty Coleman in 1970, her brothers, Charles, Orville, Murnis, Harry, Delbert and Lynn, her sisters, Goldie Jackman and Thelma Hauser, a daughter, Diane Ansell Niblack, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, daughter-in-law, Beatrice Coleman, and four sons-in-law, Arthur Braham, William Beeson, Dale Eicher and Galen Ansell.
She is survived by her children: Jean Braham of North Royalton, Ohio, Mayola Beeson of Daytona Beach, Florida, William Coleman of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Marjorie Currie and her husband, Samuel, of Saline, Michigan, Kathleen Hockenberry and her husband, Donald, of Fairchance, Pa., Bernell Eicher of Fairchance, Pa., Joseph Coleman and his wife, Marie, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and Blaine Coleman and his wife, Marlene, of Smithfield, Pa.
Emma is also survived by forty-three grandchildren, ninety-one great grandchildren, fifty-two great-great grandchildren, and two great-great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends in the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 East Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, March 5, 2008, until 10 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Scott C. Hoppe officiating.
Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park, Brownfield, Pa.
