Lizzie Irene Spiers Sutherland, 74 of 148 40th died Monday November 7, 1977 at the McKay Dee Hospital. Mrs Sutherland was born November 19, 1902 in Farr West, Utah. She is the daughter of Edwin and Elizabeth Rawson Spiers
She was married to James Alexander Sutherland on November 20, 1926, in Salt Lake City. He died in 1964. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Surviving are two sons, James Alexander Sutherland and Kay Robert Sutherland, both of Ogden; six grand children and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers and six sisters, Frank Spiers Anaheim, California; Harvey Spiers - Salt Lake City, Utah; Dee Spiers - Ogden, Utah; Bud Spiers - Oregon; Veda Fiorelli and Vivian Jones both of Nyssa Oregan; Edith Jensen, Stockton California; Mary Ward - Logan; Riva Bunderson and Helen Peterson both of St. Charles, Idaho. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 in the Larkin Chapel of the Dawn with Bishop Ellis Cragun of the 32nd Ward. Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday from 10 until Services. Interment in Washington Heights Memorial Park.
Irene was an avid genealogist. She lived modestly and sewed her own clothes. She loved her children and her family being very close to her sisters.
